Every exhibition is a journey. And some journeys begin even before the first step.

This immersive room invites you to enter the road of memory. Not a road measured in kilometers, but in time, affection, and transformation. Between modernist Pampulha and the Baroque city of Ouro Preto, Ângela and Chico travel the same route year after year. A ritual that began in 1976 and has crossed five decades of shared life.

In each period, a different car accompanies the couple. Aboard these models, they talk about unforgettable moments: the first job, the arrival of a child, a Carnival costume, the dream of owning their first car, the anticipation of a grandchild. Fragments of an intimate story that echo so many others — stories of people whose lives have been shaped by the automobile, by industry, and by the city in motion.

Here, the car goes beyond comfort, pleasure, and freedom. It becomes a space of life. A place of conversation, silence, decision, and celebration. Over the course of 50 years, Fiat has been present not only on the streets, but also in everyday life, on the road that brought loved ones closer together, and in achievements that became memories.

Here, you take a seat in the back. From this point of view, you follow fragments of an entire life and discover how, in Brazil, the automobile became part of a collective affective memory, representing so many people and real stories.

This is only the first curve in the journey. Throughout the exhibition, other stories, images, sounds, and objects will expand your gaze. Along the way, the streets reveal meanings of urban life, shaped by people, cars, and all the cultural expressions present within them. These are legacies that build Brazilian identity and encourage us to imagine possible futures.
