A SPACE OF AFFECTION

In 1993, after winning the Brazilian Grand Prix in the rain at Interlagos, Ayrton Senna celebrated seated in the window of the Safety Car — a Fiat Tempra 16V, launched that very year — as it completed a victory lap before the crowd. It was also during that Grand Prix that Ayrton Senna and Adriane Galisteu first met.

On the eve of Galisteu’s twentieth birthday, Senna asked which car she would choose. Her answer was a Fiat Uno.

Days later, he arrived in a brand-new silver 1993 Uno Mille Electronic, with personalized license plates bearing the letters DRI, a bouquet of roses on the dashboard, and an invitation to dinner. The television host’s first car, which she has preserved for more than thirty years, is part of this exhibition. In this story, the automobile emerges as an intimate, biographical, and emotional space.

Also in this section, three people share their stories with Fiat, showing how different models became part of their lives and came to carry memories, journeys, achievements, and defining moments.

THREE STORIES

“My story with Fiat began in childhood because my aunt only ever bought Fiat cars. I ended up doing the same! I also created a podcast dedicated to the brand’s cars and earned a degree in Languages, specializing in Italian, so I could better understand that whole world. For Fiat’s 125th anniversary in Italy, I made a quick trip to Turin. Before leaving Brazil, I reached out to one of the company’s directors on social media and asked for an invitation to the event. Even though I never received a reply, I went anyway. With my student Italian, they assumed I was a ‘friend’ of the director. Once inside, however, they realized my name wasn’t on the guest list. To avoid any misunderstanding, I left. But when the event opened to the public, I went back to see the launch of the Grande Panda. When I returned to Brazil, I was invited to become the first member of Fiat Insider, the brand’s fan program, where I now enjoy exclusive experiences. My passion for the brand was recognized.”

“The 1997 Fiat Palio ED, which my parents paid for over 36 installments through sheer determination, brings back wonderful memories and a sense of nostalgia for our family moments. It was the last car my grandmother rode in before she passed away. I kept a spare key before it was sold. When I started working at Fiat in 2018, I promised myself I would find it again. I did, restored it, and surprised my parents in the middle of the pandemic. I showed them the similarities, but it was only when my mother read the license plate that she realized it was the very same car. They were deeply moved. Later, I did the same with the Fiat Stilo my father bought in 2003. I still drive it today, and even twenty-three years later, it is still a great car.”

“The Fiat 147 was my grandfather’s first car back in the 1980s. My whole family, from Nova Venécia, Espírito Santo, remembers that car fondly as an important part of our story. I also remember, as a child, my father getting his first car: a Fiat Strada. It was an exciting moment for my brother and me. My mother used to put a tarp in the cargo bed and fill it with water to turn it into a swimming pool. Having a Fiat became a family tradition. In 2025, I got my first one: a Fastback. My brother filmed the surprise my parents had prepared for me, and I posted the video. It went viral. One of the messages I received changed my life. It was Fiat inviting me to join the brand’s fan program, Fiat Insider.”
